How to Find Us

IF TRAVELLING ON THE A623:  Approx. mid-way between Baslow and Chapel-en-le-Frith take the B6049 for Tideswell. Keep on the main road through Tideswell until you pass Darkbrook Pianos on your right, 100 yards further on turn right by a bus shelter onto Richard Lane.

Go to the top of Richard Lane where the road narrows and turn right, then in 30 yards turn left. Stay on this country road for 1¾ miles and you will see our Monks Retreat sign by a copper beech tree and cattle grid on your right.

IF TRAVELLING ON THE A6:   Approx. mid-way between Buxton and Bakewell take the B6049 for Millers Dale. Stay on the B6049 for 2 miles until you see a white wooden bungalow on your left and then just ahead bear left on a single track hill with  a Monks Retreat directional sign at the bottom. Engage low gear and ascend this hill for approx 500 yards, pass the drive to Bank Top and in 20 yards you will see our sign to Monks Retreat, turn sharp left over the cattle grid.
